Personal Reflection: "In my final pregnancy, I was torn between wanting to meet my baby and not wanting to give up being pregnant."

2

Be sure that you have your infant has a rear-facing carseat installed correctly in your car so that baby will be safe when you come home.

3

If you haven't already, contact La Leche for information on breastfeeding, or contact a local lactation consultant. They are a wonderful resource.

4

41 wks LMP (39 wks gestation)
Baby weights 7.93 lbs or 3597 grams. Baby is 20.35 inches or 51.7 cm long.

5

Keep practicing your breathing techniques! You are going to need them soon!

6

Personal Reflection: "I was surprised in my 9th month when I got the 'fizzies,' it was Nathaniel peeing in utero!"

7

If you're being induced, Pitocin will be administered through an IV and gradually increased until your contractions begin.

8

It might be necessary for a c-section to be performed if labor has not started by today. This usually is the case with hospital births.

9

Don't be alarmed if your post-mature baby has dry, cracked, peeling or wrinkled skin with long fingernails and hair!

10

14

By this time, your baby is probably here! By your 6-week checkup you'll need to talk to your doctor or healthcare provider about birth control if that's the way you want to go.

15

By now, you've probably made arrangements to be induced or you're in hard labor.

16

Remember, it's not uncommon for babies to be born at 42 weeks. If you have any questions, call your healthcare provider right away!

17

Babies born during weeks 40-42 tend to be a bit larger and weigh a bit more.
