Dear Ms Ultrasound,
I have a question that maybe you can help answer for me. On the night of January 31st, 2005 (I wrote it down because it was such a vivid dream), I had a beautiful dream.
In my dream I was sitting with my Mum; we were talking and behind me I heard a little girl about 3 years old calling out "Mummy". She kept saying Mummy, mummy. I ignored her because I don't have a daughter. I have four sons. I thought she must have been talking to somebody else. Then I turned around and she came running towards me and jumped into my arms. She gave me the biggest hug, and was talking to me. She kept telling me information, and I could hear her in my dream, but when I woke up I couldn't remember anything that she had said. But I do remember that what she was telling me was wonderful and it made me very happy. So I was hugging her very tightly. It was a wonderful very real hug and I turned to my Mother to show her my daughter and I said look Mum. And Mum said I can't see anything. Then the little girl turned into a doll in my arms. But this didn't upset me. Then we walked on and I went into a shop and there was the little girl again. I asked her if she had just visited me and she said yes she had and again, she talked to me, but I can't remember what she said.
She hugged me again. I woke up feeling like everything would be ok, and maybe I had been visited by my guardian angel. Then about 2 weeks later, I had a feeling to buy a pair of baby girl newborn shoes. No reason; I wasn't pregnant, and we weren't trying till later that year...but I brought these shoes as they were on special.
Then in early March, I found out I was indeed pregnant; we had fallen accidentally. The baby is due approximately 4 days before my birthday in November, so I feel a special bond because we will share a star sign. I don't want to get my hopes up that we might be having a daughter, but do you think the dream might have been telling me something?
Wow! What a fabulous dream. YES! I think the girl who came to you in the dream is your daughter. From the research I have done, I would be shocked, if you had a boy.
A vivid compelling dream such as yours, is almost always correct. Many times in dreams like this, the child comes to you and tells you their name, too. I wish you could remember what she was saying. The important part of the dream was the emotion it caused to surface. Joy and happiness filled your soul.
I hope you have a dream journal by your bed. The moment you wake up is the best time to try and recollect your dreams and then journal them. Try not to even open your eyes before you think about that nights dreams. It is much easier to remember a dream before you cause any kind of stimulus, visual, audio or anything else. Through the years, I am sorry I haven't written down more of my dreams. When you do write them, and then a dream comes to pass, you have a moment of awe at the power of the "unknown."
Please let me know when you find out what you are having or when you give birth.
