Blurred Vision at 9 Weeks

QUESTION

Dear Midwife,
I am 9 weeks and I had an episode yesterday were my vision became very blurred and distorted. I laid down and put my feet up and then fell asleep for about a half hour. When I woke up my vision was normal and I had a slight headache and cold chills. I took my temperature and it was fine.

Should I be worried?? I called the nurse at my doctor's office and she didn't seem worried, but I'm not sure if I explained it well.

What could it be? Is it normal?

ANSWER

Minor vision changes are common during pregnancy, but not sudden changes that resolve with rest. This is something to discuss further with your midwife or doctor.
