Dear Ms. Ultrasound,
Can you find out the sex at 14 weeks? I will be 14.5 weeks at my next appointment but I don't wanna get my hopes up.
My friend and mother say yes.
There are sonographers who attempt to determine gender this early. It is not accurate! A good sonographer will wait to at least 16 weeks. I prefer 18 weeks.
External genitalia are not formed before 16 weeks. If all the circumstances fall into place, like an experienced Sonographer, a good ultrasound machine and a favorable body type (the thinner the better) gender can be determined. I prefer to wait until 18 weeks.
It looks like you will have to wait. In the meantime just enjoy the life that you have created without thoughts of gender.
