Comparing Gender Dreams

QUESTION

I am about 19.5 weeks along. I have my ultrasound appointment to find out the sex of the baby in a week. Earlier in my pregnancy at about 12 weeks, my mother had a very vivid dream about me giving birth to a baby boy. It was when I was actually in labor. She saw all the baby parts so it was a very clear dream.

I hadn't had any "feelings" or dreams about what I may be having until about a week ago. That night I had a dream that I was in with my doctor getting an ultrasound and they pointed out and said, "Look right there! You're having a baby girl!" Either way I will be ecstatic about it, but now I am just confused as to which one I should believe.

Any advice would be great! Thank you.
Sincerely,
Amanda

ANSWER

Hi Amanda,

Both dreams sound like the kind of dreams that predict. Hm... I am just as confused as you, as these kinds of dreams are so accurate. Yet you and your mother's dreams show opposite results.

Johns Hopkins did a study a few years ago on 104 pregnant women. They asked two questions about gender:

1. What do you feel you are having?
2. What did you dream you are having?

The pregnant woman's intuition gave a 71% accuracy rate at predicting gender. Her dreams gave a 100% accuracy rate.

You take if from here, Mama. Who is right?
