Continue Supplements During Pregnancy

QUESTION

Dear Nutritionist,
I just found out that I am 5 weeks pregnant. For the past few months I had been taking L-Crnetine and CLA as part of my daily supplements. Can I still take those now that I am pregnant?

ANSWER

You should never take any supplements during pregnancy unless your doctor has prescribed them or you have cleared it through your doctor first! Discontinue taking them until you can speak with your doctor.
