Do Pregnancy Symptoms Vary from Day to Day?

QUESTION

Dear Midwife,
I had 2 miscarriages before I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy 3 years ago.

I recently have discovered that I am pregnant and should be 7 - 8 weeks along. I was feeling all of the symptoms especially the breast tenderness but now it has seemed to have toned down and I'm not feeling a lot of of the symptoms anymore. I am just extremely tired.

I am worried that I am starting to lose the baby. I am not spotting or anything so that eases my mind a little bit. Is it normal for pregnancy symptoms to come and go?

Thanks,
Roxanne

ANSWER

The symptoms can vary in a normal pregnancy, but if you are really concerned, you can request either serial blood tests or an ultrasound to make sure everything looks normal. Good luck!
