Dear Ms Ultrasound,
I am trying to determine the sex of my baby as early as possible before an ultra-sound. I had one done last night to see how far I am and the BPM was 162, I am only 9 weeks along. Is it true that girls have a heart rate between 160-180?
Hi. Sex determination cannot be done by beats per minute. This is an old wives-tale. You will have to wait until you are at least 16 weeks along to have an ultrasound determine what you are having.
In the meantime, pay attention to your dreams. Have you dreamed what you are having? Has someone close to you dreamed what you are having? My research into dreams around pregnancy shows dreaming the sex of your child has a very high accuracy rate. Check out my website at for more information.
