Dreams About Being Pregnant?

QUESTION

Dear Ms Ultrasound,
Recently I got out of a horrible abusive relationship. During that relationship, my ex and I had sex while I was on my period. He ejaculated inside me and I was wondering if I could get pregnant while on my period?

I have had two dreams in a row about me taking a pregnancy test. In the first dream, it was positive but it had three lines and in the second dream, I took two tests and they both came out positive. Once again they both had three lines instead of two. I was wondering if you could help me interpret that because I have no clue what those dreams mean.

Lately I've been having a lot of pregnancy symptoms. I don't know what to do. After I had sex during my period, it lasted over a month and a half and then not even a week later I started again. I was wondering if I could be pregnant. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

ANSWER

Hi Tracy,
My expertise with dreams is about prophetic dreams -- dreams that predict the future. Your dreams seem to be mirroring your concerns about the possibility of being pregnant. To me they don't sound as if they are prophetic. When I am worried about something I will dream about it a lot. The dream doesn't necessarily mean anything except you have something on your mind.

You asked if you can get pregnant during your period. The answer is ANY time you have intercourse you risk the chance of pregnancy.

That is an unusual amount of time to bleed. The odds of having a normal pregnancy after bleeding for that long are low. Since you have been bleeding for over a month, my advice to you is to seek the advice of your doctor.

I hope you have taken a moment to congratulate yourself on getting out of an abusive relationship! Good job!
