Getting Insurance to Cover Midwife

QUESTION

Dear Midwife,
I need to write a letter to my insurance company explaining why I need a midwife that is closer to me than an hour away. I don't have a car. This is my second pregnancy and the first one was fast.

Can you give me some more reasons why it would be better to have a midwife near me?

Thanks.

ANSWER

So you don't have the baby on the bus? Or have to take an ambulance that far and have the baby in the ambulance, which will cost them a ton?

Are you saying there are closer midwives but your insurance doesn't pay them? They should if they are licensed providers in your state. Just my opinion.
