Dear Midwife,
I went to the er when I found out I was pregnant because I was having some cramping and didn't know that was normal.
They checked my hcg levels and it was 583. that was a week and a half ago. I went to the doctor yesterday and all they could see was a SMALL sac.
The doctor led me to believe that since my hcg levels were so high and we didn't see much I was having a miscarriage.
I am scheduled to have another sono next week but he did not make it sound promising.
Any advice?
My advice is to wait for the next sono. Some women make hcg very fast and the rest of the development occurs at a more normal pace.
You can also ask to have your hcg re-tested if they still don't see anything on the sono. That is another way to know for sure what is going on. Good luck!
