Incomplete Cervix, Cerclage, Pain.

QUESTION

Dear Midwife,
I am 16 weeks with my 9th pregnancy . I have an incomplete cervix along with past surgeries on my uterus. We have had 3 live births and 5 miscarriages.

I am wondering how much round ligament pain is normal. I have been in a lot more pain with this baby than with any of my other pregnancies. Do you have any suggestions or thoughts?

Blessed Be,
Courtney

ANSWER

It is common for women to have more discomfort with stretched ligaments and more and earlier Braxton-Hicks contractions with successive pregnancies. If you are really concerned, you should have your provider check because I can't see you in person :-(.
