Is Jewelry Testing Acid Harmful?
QUESTION
Dear Midwife,
I am 7 weeks pregnant and I work at a place where we test jewelry with jewelry testing acid. I wear gloves and use a mask, but I am still worried this may be harmful to the baby.
Can you please tell me if it is ok for me to work with this? Thanks

ANSWER
You should check the Materials Safety Data Sheets that your employer is required to keep on file and provide to you.
It's great that you are trying to watch out for your baby!
