Milk Leaking at 11 Weeks Pregnant?
QUESTION
Dear Midwife,
I am pregnant with my third child and am only supposed to be about 11 weeks along. Recently I have noticed some early milk leaking a little out of my breasts and it is a concern for me. I never had milk of any sort until after both of my other two were born.
Could I be farther along and if so how far approximately or is this normal? I couldn't have more than one baby could I to be producing milk so early?
ANSWER
If you have breastfed your other children, it is not unusual for you to leak through a subsequent pregnancy. Usually, it is nothing to worry about and it does not mean that you are having twins. Just mention it to your provider at your next appointment.
