Pregnancy Possible After Tubal Ligation

QUESTION

Dear Midwife,
Is it possible to be pregnant after having tubal ligation after 16 years? I having been having symptoms for the past 8 weeks, the first 3weeks i had a cycle that was very light and short 2days.

ANSWER

Yes (do take a pregnancy test!), but it is also possible that you are starting the perimenopause (which can be verified by checking your hormones).
