Risks of Having Third Cesarean Section
QUESTION
Dear Midwife,
Hi I am a mother of 2 children and I am pregnant with my 3rd child. With both my previous pregnancies I had a cesarean section and with this pregnancy I know I have to have another one.
What are the risks of this? What precautions should I take?
ANSWER
You might want to watch the YouTube my student did, which is very well-researched :
It was designed for women who are trying to avoid a cesarean, but the risk info is still relevant for you. You might also visit the ican-online.org web site for info.
The main precaution you should take is to make sure you have a good iron supply in your blood. Eat a healthy diet, take your prenatals, and take any iron supplements that are prescribed.
Good luck!
