Specific HPT for Testing Early?

QUESTION

Dear Midwife,
My question is simple. The first day of my menstrual cycle was on 13 June. My husband and I had sex on 23rd, 24th, 28th & 29th of June. My next period is not due until Thursday 12th July.

Is it possible to find out if I am pregnant, now? I have tried a home pregnancy test and it has come up negative. Is it too early to find out by a home test, or do I need to see my doctor, just to make sure? Is there a specific home test that I can do to find out?

Thank you very much for your help

ANSWER

You can't be sure it's negative until July 13, and going to the doctor won't help -- you just have to wait until you make enough hormone to trip the test.
