Trying to Conceive

QUESTION

Dear Midwife,
Hi I am a 28 year old mother of 3. I have all boys, recently my husband and I have decided that we
would like to try for a girl.

I last received the Depo Provera shot in April. I started to ovulate in October, and so far I have been pretty regular. What are my chances of becoming pregnant soon?

ANSWER

If you never had a positive pregnancy test, then there is no way to know for sure whether you had a miscarriage or not. Metformin will not affect your cycle length. If you are having irregular periods, using an ovulation predictor kit is a great idea. If you go another three months without getting pregnant, there are other medications to add to the metformin that may help PCOS women. Good luck!
