What's This Yellowish Discharge?
QUESTION
Dear Midwife,
I stayed at my boyfriend's house all weekend Friday the 15-16th and we had unprotected sex. My boyfriend ejaculated. I normally take the pill but completly forgot to take it on the 15th. I had a bit to drink.
The thing is I woke up Monday and found a bit of blood in my pants and again Tuesday and today. I'm not due on my period for 3 weeks. The blood isnt really a normal color. It's like a yellowish color. What does this mean? Im never early either. Could I be pregnant? My boyfriend said to get a test but told to him it would be to early to get one. Won't it?
ANSWER
You're right, it's too early for a pregnancy test. The discharge may either be semen or an infection. You should definitely be tested to be sure. And I hope you learned why drinking is not a good idea -- it can have bad consequences for your whole life.
