Dear Midwife,
I broke my back five years ago, and I have two rods in my back, and I also had bone taken out of my right hip to fuse to my spine. I usually have minor back pain, and I'm just wondering if this will cause problems when I am pregnant. I'm not yet, but we are trying to conceive.
It's really not surprising that at one time or another, every individual will suffer from back pain. After all, our backs are involved in every thing we do. Injuries resulting from improper body movements and other forms of non-traumatic causes, which make up the majority of back pain cases, can often be prevented.
Dear Fitness Expert,
I am about 4 weeks right now and I was wondering if I could start walking every day. I have been active in the past, lifting weights and running about 2-3 times a week.
However, I hurt my back this summer and have been unable to do very much. I was just getting back in the groove when I found out I was pregnant.
