Dear Midwife,
I have a question I just found out I'm pregnant a few days ago, I'm about 5 weeks pregnant.
I was wondering if its normal to have abdominal pain (similar to the ones I get when I'm on my period) and also been having a little of vaginal discharge (but the its kind of brownish). I'm worried about these symptoms. Are they normal or not?

I just found out today I am pregnant!! According to my last period, I should only be about 3-4 weeks. I have an appointment with my OB in April.
Last week, when my period should have occurred, I had one instance of spotting. I thought I was starting my period, but I wasn't. Tonight, I spotted again.

I am on the pill and had my period as normal from November 26th until December 2nd. On the 5th of December I had sex. Then on the 8th of December I started to notice brown spotting. I only needed to wear a panty liner as it wasn't heavy. I stopped this spotting on 9th. I am due my next period on December 24th. Could the brown spotting be an implantation bleed? Can you get pregnant that soon after having a period? I thought it had to be when I ovulate?
