I got the head out, and the doctor said, "OK, little push," so I got the shoulders out, and again another little push and the doctor thought Mason's body would be out. But it took two more, since Mason was so long.
If your pregnancy is progressing normally, you probably will be visiting our doctors and nurses every other week during this time period. At 36 weeks gestation, your provider may schedule weekly visits until your baby arrives. At each visit you can expect the routine:
- Your weight measured
- Your blood pressure taken
- Your urine analyzed
- Your abdomen measured to check you baby's growth (fundal height)

What most expectant parent don't realize is that they truly are in charge of their baby's birthing. They get to choose the way the labor and birth go, as well as their baby's care after birth. It is no different than any other service that you pay for, except that it is much more important.
