To drag your body up to do anything when you're pregnant is hard enough, but to be motivated to exercise -- get outta here! Pregnancy is a time for sitting comfortably on the sofa with your feet firmly OFF the ground and your hand firmly IN a bag of chocolates...is it not?
Okay boys, your wife is pregnant and things are starting to get interesting. The hormones are kicking in and things can get a little bit dicey. There are so many areas of discussion that can get you into hot water. Here are few typical issues faced by the unassuming dad-to-be.
Dear Midwife,
Ive noticed even after my doctor visit on the 19th that I have a thick white creamy discharge that doesn't seem to smell and is there all the time.
This is my first pregnancy and I am at 14 and a half weeks. Is this normal or should I have it checked out by my regular OB/GYN
I've become a little obsessed about the baby's gender. I spend a lot of time online looking at different websites that "guarantee" you'll know your baby's gender, if only you'll send them a couple of hundred dollars, and some of your blood.
Now I want sweets all the time, and lots of veggies (but no carrots! Those make me gag!). Weird, huh? Do you think the baby was a boy and turned into a girl somehow? Tim came up with another boy name I really like! What do you think about Levi? I really love it! We're thinking Levi James.
It isn't that *big* of a thing normally...but right now smells are driving me nuts. Worse than driving me nuts...driving me to throw up. And my husband doesn't get it. The increased sensitivity a woman has to smells is a result of her olfactory and pheromone receptors becoming hyperactive during pregnancy. Her what?
I was shellshocked, the Crest dripping down my chin. Throwing up has become just part of her morning routine, like reading the comics or making the bed. I may have to start locking the bathroom door.
"I'm sorry for being a butthead last night," she said. "I'm sorry for reacting the way I did." We kissed again and that was that. It was a weird feeling, partially because it was our first argument in years in which she had been the irrational one and admitted as much.
Well, it has been a week and a half since I got my cerclage and already I am running into frustration with not being able to the things I am used to. The doctor told me no heavy lifting, no strenuous exercise, and no intercourse.
