Five Alarm Birth
by My2Girls
It's important to start with my prenatal exam on Thursday April 5th. My doctor was scheduled to return from vacation on my due date (4/16), so my prenatal appointment was with one of his partners. Let's call him "Dr. Schmuck." So Dr. Schmuck told me that I was only 1 cm and totally effaced and since my first baby was born eight days early, I should expect to deliver before Monday.

Justin's Birth Story

Stay-at-Home Birth with Jackson
I have to admit that by my eighth month of pregnancy, I couldn't tell what I dreaded more – remaining hugely pregnant until my due date in mid-July or launching early into labor – an un-medicated, all natural home birth – an experience that I'd signed eagerly up for just eight months before.

I got the head out, and the doctor said, "OK, little push," so I got the shoulders out, and again another little push and the doctor thought Mason's body would be out. But it took two more, since Mason was so long.
