Dear Midwife,
I just took a home pregnancy test and it's positive. Can I continue my vitamin routine that I have currently?
I take 1 multi vitamin, 1 super b complex and 1 cinnamon daily. I also take folic acid about once a week with these as well. Do I need to change this????
Dear Experts,
I need some help and I don't know where else to turn. I am 20 weeks pregnant with my first child at age 35 and feel I may have become seriously depressed. I first mentioned this to my OB at about week 8 and he basically blew me off. In all fairness though, it's a group practice and you don't really get to know any of the physicians very well.
Dear Fitness Expert,
A little over a year ago I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease as well as Lyme Meningitis. I was in the hospital and put on Rocephin for 30 days. Since then, I've been rehabilitating myself in terms of the fatigue, residual effects of the Lyme's, and then Fibromyalgia.
I'm doing much better now, but am taking a large amount of vitamins to help with my energy levels and immune system.
Dear Midwife,
I took a pregnancy test today. I am on day 27 of a usual 29 day cycle. The test was negative. A few hours before taking the test a ate a pretty big lunch and took a prenatal vitamin. This was my first trip to the bathroom afterwards.
Would or could this affect the outcome of the test. I have been pregnant a few times before, and I at times REALLY feel pregnant. I would think I am most likely not, but just wanted to know if eating and vitamins could have an affect on the outcome of pregnancy tests?
Dear Midwife,
My husband and I have been trying for our first baby for nearly 10 months. We have been unsuccessful so far. I am taking folic tablets on a daily basis but is there any particular vitamins or mineral my husband should be taking?
PMS can have a significant impact on your mood, sense of worth, irritability, and relationships many days a month. But happily, there's a lot you can do about it!
Dear Fitness Expert,
What are the earliest symptoms of pregnancy. I have been on Lupron for the past 3 months and my doctor has given us the ok to try to get pregnant. This is going to be challenging because I have not had my period for 3 months.
Where do I start and how soon will I be able to know if what I am trying is working? When is the earliest I can take a pregnancy test?
One of the ladies that I work with has extremely severe "morning" sickness all day long. Is there anything that she can do alleviate that? I am concerned because she has already lost about 5 pounds in the last week from getting sick.

Dear Fitness Expert,
Are there any vitamins or minerals that should not be taken or taken in small doses when you are pregnant? I take a multivitamin / multi-mineral called One Source for Women (a Walmart brand) and would like to know if I can continue to take it if or when I become pregnant.

Studies have shown a link between taking high doses of Vitamin A (as retinol or retinyl esters) during early pregnancy and certain birth defects. How much and what forms of Vitamin A is safe during pregnancy? Are there other medications or foods that should be avoided?
