Rising hCG Despite No Fetal Pole On Ultrasound
QUESTION
Dear Midwife,
My LMP was 8-29-09. Date of conception ~ 09/15. Spotting and cramping yielded very early US on 10/05. Abnormal US "showing large subchorionic hematoma "probably abortion in progress, with no fetal pole." Quantitative Bhcg went from 15999 to 30000 in 48 hours (10/06-10/08). Saw OBGYN 10/12 w/repeat U/S.Her thoughts were there is no hematoma, but that it is a collapsed second sac. No fetal pole or heartbeat seen in other sac. OB states 99% sure not a viable pregnancy. Had repeat bhcg same day, up to 60,000.
Metanex Preventing Miscarriage?
QUESTION
Dear Midwife,
Three years ago I got pregnant and then miscarried at 6 weeks. There was a lot of blood and a lot of cramping. QUESTION
Dear Midwife,
I'm 7 weeks pregnant and I just started spotting. I've had a miscarriage in the past and am extremely nervous. The bleeding is very light, sort of mucousy, and I'm only slightly crampy, but I've been slightly crampy for weeks now. Could this be late implantation? Or should I be worried that it's something more serious?
Thank you!

Who knew that there are so many reasons to be angry after a miscarriage? I am a mental health care professional so I am well acquainted with the stages of grief. I was not shocked by my shock. I expected and allowed my sadness. What I was not prepared for, however, was the depth and breadth of my anger. I am ANGRY. Dear Ms Ultrasound,
Last week I had a D&C following a "missed miscarriage". It was dated 5+ weeks and showed 2 gestational sacs (no heartbeats) - both with good decidual reactions.3 days later I started to bleed again and another u/s showed one of the sacs collapsing, the other still had a good decidual reaction.
