Dear Midwife,
I am 38 weeks pregnant and woke up from a 2 hour nap to find a wet spot in the bed. I don't know if it is urine or amniotic fluid. I called my doctor and she said if I leak more to go to the hospital. Any other advise?
Dear Midwife
I am 38 weeks pregnant and told at my last appointment that I was 1 cm dilated.
How early can you loose your mucus plug? I have had discharge since the beginning of my pregnancy, but I think I may have fully lost it today. At one point today, I discharged about three times the amount I typically do.
Could this be it? If so when will actual labor begins?
Dear Midwife,
I have two questions for you. First, I am wondering if there is anything you can take safely to help start labor. I have had four children so far and have had to be induced every time, at least a week late and up to past two weeks late. One of my babies was over 9 pounds so now we usually start a little earlier. I would love to go into labor on my own, but since I have had no luck doing this, I am willing to be induced, especially if it means having a smaller baby. Any ideas on how to start labor on my own?
After hours or even weeks of non-productive pre-labor contractions, your body may begin to have rhythmic contractions that seem "different" to you. Are they the real thing? Read on for confirming sypmtoms and things to do while you're waiting.
Sarah hijacked this entry, which is fine with me. After all, it's her uterus; maybe it should be her words, too.... They were also starting to hurt really bad. For some reason I kept yelling "Ouchie Momma!" When I tried to shower, it took forever because I had to stop every time a contraction came.
