placenta previa

  • Concerns About Placenta Previa

    QUESTION

    Dear Midwife,
I have placenta previa. I also have to take Prometreum because I do not produce enough progesterone. I am approximately 22 weeks and am about to go in for my second ultrasound.

I am scared to death of what is going to happen if the placenta doesn't move up. I know that I will have a C-section if it does not. But I am still worried about bleeding a lot and healing times. I was wondering if you could help put my mind at ease.

    Thanks,
    Brittany

  • Placenta Covers OS - 18 Weeks Pregnant

    QUESTION

    Dear Ms. Ultrasound,
Hi, I had bleeding and strong BH contractions after intercourse with my partner which lasted for 2 days. I'm 18 weeks pregnant.

    My scan says this..

The placenta lies mainly on the left lateral wall, however it covers the internal os. No obvious hemorrhage seen.

As my placenta covers the os, what are the chances of it moving by the time I am 38 weeks? I know that 90% of LLP move enough for a normal birth, however as mine covers the internal os are the chances still as high?

  • Possible Twins At 16wks? Is It Possible?

    QUESTION

    Dear Ms. Ultrasound,
I'm 16 weeks pregnant. I have had a few ultrasounds and they have only seen one fetus.

Last week I was told that they could see another sac and a shadow but they weren't sure if it was another fetus. Is that possible even though I've had like 4 ultrasounds before?

I also have placenta previa. Do you think maybe that's what they saw.

    QUESTION

    Dear Midwife,
My doctor keeps trying to act like it's not a big deal about my complete placenta previa. I want the truth. I am 27 weeks and I just found out that I have complete placenta previa. I have had two spotting episodes.
