Dear Midwife,
I just found out unexpectedly that I am pregnant with baby #3. I had my period (or at least I thought I did) the beginning of the month but it was very very light, I never even soaked through a tampon/pad. I originally went to the doctors because I thought that I may be having a kidney infection when the doctor came back and told me that my blood test came back positive for pregnancy.
Dear Ms. Ultrasound,
My wife is now just at 7.5 weeks pregnant. She had a trans vaginal ultrasound last Friday which would have been right at 6.5 weeks. We are absolutely sure that she got pregnant on Feb. 24 or 25th as I traveled a lot and we didn't see each other much other than then. I'm worried because when we went for her scan they didn't see anything at all.
Dear Midwife,
Please please please help me, I am so worried and need reassurance
Following a miscarriage with my first baby in September last year I was delighted to find out 3 weeks ago my husband and I are expecting again. My doctor has been monitoring me closely by taking blood tests and I had a referral yesterday for a scan to the Early Pregnancy Unit.
Dear Midwife,
This is my first pregnancy. on Jan 14th I took two home pregnancy tests & both came out positive. On Jan 15th I went to a family doctor and had my blood drawn for a more accurate test, and sure enough I was pregnant!
Dear Midwife,
I would like to ask if I should worry cause my first beta test 347.7 2wks into pregnancy 2/3/09, second was 3,332 2/9/09 and two days later I took another beta test. They told me I should double or reach 66% but it came back 4,635.
Dear Ms. Ultrasound,
Hello, I am 37 years old and I am pregnant with my third child. I have been put through an emotional roller coaster this past few days.
Dear Midwife,
My period has been late for about 9 days now. Actually my period has been irregular ever since I got married (late November last year). But 9 days late is considered a record for me. Since this year, at most my period has been late is 5 days. I did take a pregnancy test (ClearBlue brand) on a day ago (in the morning) and it came out negative. Unsatisfied, I went to the doctor whom took a urine test (which looks rather 'cheap' compared to the one I'd used). It came out negative.
My own experience is that although the books say a healthy fetus should double the hcg every 48 hours in early pregnancy, that is not what I often see happening.

Dear Ms Ultrasound,
I'm not sure whether to worry about this or not. I had my last period between June 10th through June 14th. My OB confirmed the pregnancy and I haven't had any bleeding. My HcG levels my levels were good. Since I miscarried last year, she sent me for an ultrasound for viability and dates.
At my first ultrasound the sonographer saw an empty gestational sac. She said I may have a blighted ovum.
The following day I had more blood drawn for HCG levels. My levels were rising as they should. The OB said not to worry about a blighted ovum.
