    Dear Midwife,
    I started birth control 1 week and 4 days ago. After the 1st week I felt sick to my stomach like heart burn and it doesn't stop. I've also had terrible head aches, shortness of breathe when working out, and nausea. I don't know what it is or what to do.

    I have been on BC for about five years. My husband and I are newly weds, I went off the pill on November 6th the start of my cycle. I was approximately 9 days late for my period in December once I did start, it has been really light and bright red. This is not normal for me I usually flow at a steady medium pace for five days.     I went off birth control in December of 2001. I had been on the pill for fairly consistently 14 years to keep my face clear of pimples. Eight months after going off the pill in December of 2001, I got pregnant. I miscarried at 11 weeks. That was in November 2002.
