Hello!
I am 11 weeks pregnant and had my first doctor appointment this morning. Upon feeling the size of my uterus, my doctor asked me if I was sure about the date of my last menstrual period because my uterus is roughly 2 weeks bigger than it should be.
Having one baby is cause enough for a new or even an experienced mom to worry. But the worry only multiplies at hearing you're carrying multiples. So, after you've had a moment to freak out or pick your partner up off the floor, now is the time to get serious and start asking the right questions to get your pregnancy off to a great start.
I went for an ultrasound at 5 weeks and 4 days (baby A's measurements) baby B was 5 weeks 2 days. All that was showing on the transvaginal ultrasound were the 2 sacs -- no yolks, poles or heartbeats which the technician said is very normal for that early on.
Hi Midwife,
I am currently 17 weeks pregnant with my third baby and everyone keeps telling me that I look like I'm having twins cause of the size of my belly.
Being a teenager is hard everyone knows it. Drama is hard, gossip is hard, the emotions are hard. Being a pregnant teen is hard no one can deny it. disaproval is hard, the emotions are hard, the looks are unbareable. I am EXTREMELY greatful for my family, my friends and the way i was raised. Espically now that i found out im pregnant with twins.
Is there any wonder why there is a low compliance to follow the prescribed guidelines and attempt conception with just one embryo when the chances of a live birth are improved with two? Unfortunately, the greater the number of embryos, the greater the risk of preterm deliveries, therefore having a twin pregnancy is not a benign act.
Dear Midwife,
I found out via ultrasound on October 28th that I am pregnant with identical twins (in the same sack). On 10/28, the larger twin (twin A) was measuring 5 weeks 6 days with a faint heartbeat. Twin B was smaller (I don't know how much smaller), and no heartbeat was detectable. 5 days later, on November 2, I had a follow-up ultrasound b/c of bleeding. Twin A is now measuring 7 weeks 4 days, and twin B is measuring between 5 weeks 6 days and 6 weeks 1 day. No heartbeat for twin B yet.
Dear Midwife,
I've been crawling around on the floor, visiting the chiropractor and doing inversions to turn my 29 week twins. So far I haven't had any luck. They're both transverse.
I'm really committed to a vaginal birth. What else would you suggest I do?
"A sonogram just confirmed that I'm carrying twins. I'm excited, but really, really nervous. Getting my head around having one baby on the way has been exciting and a little scary. Now I'm terrified. I don't know how I'll manage having two babies at once!" You will manage as a mother of twins, in ways you never thought possible...
It was a big shock when I found out I had two babies growing in me at the same time. I didn't know what to expect of the pregnancy, delivery, and oh my gosh how was I going to take care of two babies? No one can truly prepare you for twins but I am going to try to help.
This past week has been amazing! It's starting to sink in that I am having twins. I'm really excited about it all. I feel so special that I get to have two babies at once.

Due to special situations like high blood pressure, premature rupture of membranes, twins or triplets, your provider may decide to order a non-stress test (NST). An NST monitors a baby's health by showing his/her baseline heart rate and also any increases in the heart rate due to movement. It's an easy, painless, non-invasive test that allows your providers to monitor baby's well being in the womb.

Today is November 15th, and I found out that I am pregnant with my fourth baby. I am not sure how far along I am, or even when I am due. I just know that I have a baby growing inside me and that my HCG levels are 84.
This last month has been a total whirlwind. I'm finally able to sit here and recall the last moments of a beautiful, albeit hard journey in my life and to write them down, to remember forever what it was like the last weeks I was pregnant with my precious twin daughters.
