Dear Midwife,
I was recently put on Clomid by one of my doctors because my progesterone levels were "not so good".
My first question is if my LMP date was wrong (I did not keep a close track) could my progesterone test levels be affected by this and should I ask for a blood pregnancy test before I take the first pill in five days?
Dear Midwife,
My doctor did blood work on me, I was having pregnancy symptoms and the test was negative, it turns out my estrogen level is higher than my progesterone and I have polycystic syndrome. She said that means I am not ovulating. And that’s why I had trouble conceiving the 2 children I have now. It took us 7 months to get pregnant with our 2 year old.
Dear Midwife,
I just went in for my 3rd blood test. I think I'm about 5 weeks along - but not too sure as I haven't officially seen my doctor yet.
1st blood test hcg: 315 and progesterone was 24.6
2nd blood test hcg: 900 and progesterone was 18.0 (this was 2 days after the 1st blood test)
Still awaiting the results from the 3rd blood test.
Should I be concerned about these levels? My nurse told me the level they like to see for the progesterone is 20. Should I be concerned about this?
Dear Midwife,
I am looking forward for advice, who can guide me to take the right path. I am 36 years old, had 4 miscarriages in 2 years. First 3 miscarriages, happened within 10 months. 1st pregnancy went up to 12 weeks and miscarriage happened at home.
Dear Midwife,
I am to my breaking point, so I thought I'd write you.
I had my second miscarriage in April 2003. We have been trying to get pregnant ever since. Several of my friends told me to get on progesterone cream because it would help with my getting pregnant. I checked out a few web sites and they said the same thing.
have been feeling ill for a couple of days....exactly like I was when I was pregnant. I have had a period so I wasn't really convinced that it could be a possibility...
PMS can have a significant impact on your mood, sense of worth, irritability, and relationships many days a month. But happily, there's a lot you can do about it!
I got a call from the OB/GYN's office and they said I should come in tomorrow to meet with the doctor! Ahh....finally....a chance to get my questions answered.
