I am 37 years old, 4 weeks pregnant, and have scheduled my first appointment with my OBGYN who will only see me at 6 weeks. I was told that my doctor will do a urine test and a transvaginal ultrasound at this first appointment to confirm the pregnancy and take a measurement.
Dear Ms. Ultrasound,
My wife is now just at 7.5 weeks pregnant. She had a trans vaginal ultrasound last Friday which would have been right at 6.5 weeks. We are absolutely sure that she got pregnant on Feb. 24 or 25th as I traveled a lot and we didn't see each other much other than then. I'm worried because when we went for her scan they didn't see anything at all.
Dear Midwife,
I recently went to the emergency room for cramping. I had no bleeding accompanying this. They did a transvaginal ultrasound and estimated I was 4-5 weeks gestation and that no fetal heart beat was present. They discharged me with a diagnosis of having a miscarriage.
Dear Ms. Ultrasound,
I'm a 23-year-old mother of 1 and 1 on the way. I had a vaginal ultrasound on 1-29. I was expecting to see a baby and heartbeat. Instead there was an empty sac and the start of what my doctor thought was the yolk. The scan said I was measuring about 6 weeks along and he said I looked more like I was 5& weeks.
According to my LMP I am 8 weeks pregnant. I went in to see my doctor for the first time yesterday and he gave me a transvaginal ultrasound. According to the ultrasound, my baby is measuring 6 weeks.
I am really concerned because I am certain that I am 8 weeks pregnant, or close to it, because I took an ovulation predictor test and I tested positive for a pregnancy test a bit more than two weeks later.
Dear Ms Ultrasound,
At the beginning of my seventh week I had a transvaginal ultrasound and although everything appeared normal -- the size of the fetus was normal and all the surroundings were good, etc. -- there was no fetal heartbeat.
