    QUESTION

    Dear Midwife,
    I'm 38 and have 2 kids which are 7 years apart as we tried for years to have our 2nd and had many miscarriages. My miscarriages were mostly very early losses. Eventually fertility drugs did the trick and we had baby # 2 in Dec. 07.

    About a year ago I found out I was pregnant for the very first time. That morning I had told my husband that I thought I was pregnant and he just waved it off, not really believing me. To his defense I had thought this or that must be pregnancy for a little while before that. I had been so worried about getting pregnant before my wedding. However my wedding had just passed and i just knew that I was pregnant this time.

    I have been actively ttc for 1 year now and my period was 6 days late. I was still waiting to test, but on day 6 of being late I started spotting and by the early morning of day 7, my period had started. I had cramps worse than normal and passed several small clots that were a grayish color.
