It's almost time for Santa to make his way down the chimney and you're stumped about what to get the expectant dad on your list. We've done some shopping and came up with what we think are some pretty fun gifts for that daddy-to-be!
Having gone through it once before, there are some things I want to share with and warn my friends about, certain aspects of the whole pregnancy and childbirth thing that come solely from the male point of view. After a few discussions with some of my other friends who are already fathers, there are a few things we all agreed new fathers should know.
Dr. Robert Bradley developed this method in the late 1940's. The Bradley method emphasizes an extremely natural approach, with few or no drugs and little medical help during labor and delivery. Stressing good diet and exercise during pregnancy, it teaches deep relaxation techniques to manage pain, and educates a woman's husband or partner so they can be an effective coach. Read more.
In cases of Rh incompatibility, a baby's red blood cells have a substance called the Rh D factor, and the mother's blood cells do not. In medical terms, the baby is Rh positive and you are Rh negative. If some of the baby's red blood cells leak into your system, your body may produce antibodies to the Rh D factor. These antibodies can affect your unborn baby or the next Rh-positive baby you have.

Dear Mr. Dad,
My wife and I are expecting our first child. The problem is that I'm in the US Marine Corps on tour in Iraq. I have been here since the beginning of the pregnancy and I might not be there for the birth of our child.
My wife is having a hard time doing this on her own and I feel that there's nothing I can do to support her. I'm reading your book, The Expectant Father, which I find very helpful. But do you know of any resources that are specifically aimed at military dads and/or their families?
After having already had three children and a houseful of dogs and cats I pretty much thought I was prepared for our fourth baby, Kelsyann. I'm an experienced Mom right?!? This should be easy.
Well boy was I wrong! From the beginning Kelsyann has been a needy baby. Nothing that worked with the others seemed to work for her. This has been interesting, frustrating and challenging at best!
Bursting with life, the pregnant body can often allow for women to become multiply orgasmic and extremely desirous. Due to the bath of "love" hormones like oxytocin, coupled with vaso-dilation, the biggest barriers to sex during pregnancy is usually misinformation.
Dear Mr. Dad,
My girlfriend and I are about to become parents. She wants to get married before the baby is born, but I don’t really see the point. Can’t unmarried parents be just as committed as married ones?

On top of the rumpled sheet were two long white things, which I mistook for thermometers. She had been sick lately, and I figured she had been taking her temperature. Twice, for some reason. When I blinked, the thermometers turned into something more interesting: home pregnancy tests.
It's very rare to hear a man talk about how he bonded with his baby whilst it was still in the womb. For that matter I think the majority of men don't feel a strong bond with their baby for several weeks or even months. Why is this the case? What can we do about it?

I'm really excited about my wife's pregnancy and started to go to the doctor's appointments with her. But the doctor basically ignores me or gives me a silly looking smile. I want to stay involved but I'm getting really angry. Is there anything else I can do?
We've interviewed hundreds of men around the world for our Being Dad films and color, religion or nationality doesn't matter; some men can have sex during pregnancy and some can't. Many women have told us that when their man tells them they aren't interested or can't do it that they perceived it was because he didn't find them attractive in their later stages of pregnancy.
The second trimester brings a bump and a few other telling signs that you are carrying a real person. It's starting to hit home with your guy that he really is going to be a dad. Is he mature enough to be a parent? How will your relationship hold up? Will he ever have sex again? This is what he may be worried about for the coming months.
