Even though you've been anticipating the birth of your baby for several months, it may be difficult to tell when labor actually begins. People say, "you'll just know," but that's hardly reassuring. In fact you might feel like rolling your eyes! You will need to interpret your body's changes as labor approaches. Although every woman's pregnancy is unique there are a number of signals your body is gearing up for labor.
Dear Midwife,
My wife is 23 weeks pregnant and she has been having a mucus discharge that is thick and brownish pink color. The doctor do not know what it is or what is causing it.
My wife is concerned that it's her mucus plug and that she may be starting the labor process. She lost her last child 7 weeks into her second pregnancy.
Dear Midwife,
I have a question I just found out I'm pregnant a few days ago, I'm about 5 weeks pregnant.
I was wondering if its normal to have abdominal pain (similar to the ones I get when I'm on my period) and also been having a little of vaginal discharge (but the its kind of brownish). I'm worried about these symptoms. Are they normal or not?
Dear Midwife,
Ive noticed even after my doctor visit on the 19th that I have a thick white creamy discharge that doesn't seem to smell and is there all the time.
This is my first pregnancy and I am at 14 and a half weeks. Is this normal or should I have it checked out by my regular OB/GYN
Dear Midwife,
I am nearly seven weeks pregnant, over the last week (not every day) I have noticed only when wiping after a wee, a thick discharge, white/yellow in color and only a small amount. I have had no pain or cramping and discharge does not smell. I am paranoid about miscarrying to the point me and my partner haven't celebrated the news yet?
Dear Midwife
I am 38 weeks pregnant and told at my last appointment that I was 1 cm dilated.
How early can you loose your mucus plug? I have had discharge since the beginning of my pregnancy, but I think I may have fully lost it today. At one point today, I discharged about three times the amount I typically do.
Could this be it? If so when will actual labor begins?
Dear Midwife,
I stayed at my boyfriend's house all weekend Friday the 15-16th and we had unprotected sex. My boyfriend ejaculated. I normally take the pill but completely forgot to take it on the 15th. I had a bit to drink.
The thing is I woke up Monday and found a bit of blood in my pants and again Tuesday and today. I'm not due on my period for 3 weeks. The blood isn't really a normal color. It's like a yellowish color. What does this mean? I'm never early either. Could I be pregnant?

Dear Fitness Expert,
I haven't been diagnosed with PCOS, but it not only runs in the family, but I have seen my cysts through sonogram. I started working out about a month ago. After the first two days of exercising I started to get a sharp pain on the left side of my abdomen. I thought that I might be pregnant since I was about two weeks late. But, my HPT came up negative.

Dear Midwife,
I have the normal white vaginal discharge that you explain on the website. I do however also have a very similar discharge (more clear than white though) when I pass stools. Is this discharge normal or not?
Consider staying home for most of your labor, allowing yourself the comfort of your familiar surroundings. You will be able to employ your hypnosis techniques much better in your own, quiet surroundings, and as long as there are no danger signs.
